Projects of Makran City Infrastructure Company
Water Infrastructure
Vision
The development of the Makran region, including the creation of export-capable manufacturing industries, reducing imports, establishing agricultural and industrial projects, growing the tourism industry, constructing a new Makran port-economic city, and other development plans for this land, all require the provision and growth of essential infrastructure such as roads, urban development, and the construction of urban facilities, as well as the supply of water, electricity, gas, etc. The implementation of these projects depends on the availability of these infrastructures. In this context, in addition to feasibility studies for the construction of an industrial park, power plant construction, implementation of agricultural and industrial plans, etc., by prominent consultants in the country, the issue of supplying water needed for the new Makran port city and its associated development plans has also been studied. Various solutions, including the construction of water desalination facilities, the construction of reservoir dams to control surface water runoff, groundwater extraction, the implementation of water recycling systems, etc., are being considered.
Actions Taken
- Study, identification, potential assessment, and water supply in the Makran region.
- Identification of sites for constructing reservoirs to collect surface water flowing into the sea.
- Initiation of the first and second phase studies for the construction of reservoir dams in the Makran area.
- Commencement of mapping and geotechnical studies of the sites under consideration for surface water extraction.
Energy Infrastructure
Vision
In order to meet the energy needs of the central economic port city of Makran and its associated industries and projects, one of the critical infrastructures is the timely and uninterrupted supply of electricity for these plans and projects. Therefore, studies on energy supply through the construction of renewable energy power plants and combined cycle plants, as well as the identification of other potential energy sources, have been prioritized as detailed below.
Actions Taken
- Study, identification, potential assessment, and energy supply in the Makran region.
- Examination of the energy distribution network in the area.
- Study and feasibility assessment for the construction of renewable energy power plants.
- Study and feasibility assessment for the construction of combined cycle power plants.
Gas Infrastructure
Vision
In order to develop a port city and an economic hub, and to meet the demand for gas used for residential and industrial purposes, as well as to supply feedstock for combined cycle power plants to provide energy, one of the important infrastructures in this area is the timely and uninterrupted supply of gas.
Actions Taken
– Study, identification, and potential assessment for gas supply in the Makoran area.
– Assessment of the gas network and transmission lines in the region.
